Institute for Sustainable Development and Governance, Thiruvananthapuram organized a workshop on Local self government and Budget for the Karakulam Grama panchayath members on wednesday 15 Nov 2017. It was held at Grameena Padana Kendram, Karakulam from 10 am to 2pm. 27 participants consists of panchayath members and office staff and 5 team members from ISDG actively participated in the workshop.
Smt. M. S. Anila, president, panchayath presided over the meeting. Dr. V. Madhusudhanan gave a brief introduction about the activities of ISDG and also the relevance of the topic.
Shri. E. Nizamudheen, Jt. Director(Retd), Audit dept, GOK was the key resource person. He beutifully presented the concept of budget, its relevance and importance, steps in budget preparation and the execution procedures. The session was very interactive and informative. Most of the panchayat members were first timers and the whole workshop was a new experience for them. Shri. Sunil K P moderated the interactive session. Many panchayat members and office staff participated in the discussion. They have sought the guidance of ISDG in the future activities.

Mr. E. Nizamuddeen (Joint Director (Retd), Kerala State Audit Department) was the main resource person. Thirty two persons, including the Panchayat president, Vice President, Secretary and other members, participated in the event. Our Senior Fellows and other members were also present.
