Institute of Sustainable Development And Governance (ISDG) had organised a lecture on SDG And Its Implications For India for media students and young journalists. The Speaker for the lecture was Dr. Abraham George, Director, ISDG.
Shri.Venugopal, Director, Institute Of Journalism & Communications welcomed all the delegates to the lecture.
Dr.P.Cyriac Mathews, Senior Fellow, ISDG gave a thought provoking prelude by introducing the concept of sustainable development and emphasising on the need for effective governance in order to achieve sustainable development.
In his lecture, Dr. Abraham George discussed the context in which the SDGs were introduced, the contemporary socio economic scenario and the challenges in achieving these goals. The lecture was followed by an interactive session with the students.
ISDG envisions more such lectures in the coming year.
